Happy Birthday Nature is Love!

You know what I realized just the other day? My blog has been two years old since this October began! Happy birthday Nature is Love!

What’s even more amazing is that I’ve been able to maintain and consistently update my blog for this long. This blog has helped me reflect on and share parts of my life, and I’m really thankful I’ve had it as an outlet.

I figured it would be appropriate to share my first blog post here. It’s an entry about A Sand County Almanac and features pictures that were taken at one of my favorite places:

  5. Thank you, Britta. Your comment made my day =)
I'm so glad to hear that my blog comes across as genuine. This is something I look for and love to find in other blogs as well. It's so great to find blogs from people in other parts of the world who share their stories and pictures. It's so eye-opening and enlightening, and makes me feel like I'm sharing parts of an adventure with someone.

  6. yes, I also try and keep other people sort of anonymous in my blog, no names really and just bits of them appearing in pictures.
Thank you for your kind words on my 'today, 7 years ago' post. Although I have never met you, I feel that you are a very genuine person, and this also comes through in your blog. I think that is why I am attracted to it.

  7. Thanks Britta! Your blog was a great find to me as well!

The only times I have ever removed a post or picture from my blog is when I come across an older post mentioning a person that isn't a part of my life anymore. I post a lot of my friends and family, but I'm sensitive to their privacy and make sure they're ok with being featured online. Unfortunately sometimes you fall out with people, and I feel like it might be uncomfortable for them to still be on my blog.

I think that's the only time I've ever removed content. I treat this blog as a way for me to document my life, so I haven't yet justified deleting some embarrassing older posts. Perhaps one day I might decide to convert a few posts into drafts if I find it might impact my ability to get a job (although I'm biased and believe blogging shows persistence and other desirable qualities :P).

  8. I have thought about deleting some older posts, but usually when I'm about to delete one I just can't seem to go through with it. I guess for me they just have some sort of emotional value even though by the looks of it I now dislike them. But a positive thing about leaving them on is that you're able to look back and see how much has changed and grown. 🙂

  9. Happy birthday! I'm so glad to have found your blog. Looking forward to lots more.

Have any of you beautiful ladies in this comment thread ever thought about deleting older posts in your blogs which you don't like anymore? Or do you leave them? I started thinking about this once, and didn't really come to any conclusion whether or not to delete old posts which seem, well, just old and not so connected to me anymore…

  10. That's really a great way to look at all those silly posts we all wrote as yonger girls 😛

That's also a thing I really like – poeple don't feel like they have to pretend, they're all very genuine, and it's really heart-warming to get to know such people!

  11. Happy blog birthday! 😀 Two years already, that's a while! I think it's been wonderful to read all about your adventures and ofcourse to see the beautiful scenery you capture each time 🙂 Cheers to blogging and hopefully to many more awesome blogposts!

  12. Thanks Reut! I definitely have my fair share of goofy/bad blog posts, but I think it's always interesting revisiting them. I find it's a great gift I'm giving to my future self. I'll be able to look back at my thoughts and see how I've grown throughout the years. Blogging is really great that way. It really is a sort of virtual diary.

And you're definitely right about getting to know awesome people! I don't have all that many followers, but those that I do have are really interesting and genuine people. I feel like it's a great way to feel connected with people from all over the world. 🙂

  13. Happy birthday to your blog 😛
Mine is also 3 years old, but I deny all of my first posts XD they aren't as nice as yours…
I love this concept of a blog, this is just like a virtual diary, with the ability of posting pics and getting to know awesome people…
